The total investment of the project is 2.732 billion RMB. Once the project completed, it will generate 955 million kWh of electricity annually and yield a production value of 250 million RMB, resulting in a tax contribution of 20 million RMB. As a photovoltaic desertification control project, its benefits extend beyond the economic realm. From an ecological perspective, the combination of photovoltaics and sand control can transform deserts into green areas, thereby reducing the cost of conventional sand control. From a social perspective, it can also promote the development of agriculture and animal husbandry, providing local residents with a stable source of income. Additionally, it can also support the development of desert tourism, further increasing local revenue.

Photovoltaic sand control can help to achieve Carbon Neutrality and Carbon Emission Peak, and to bring the desert to life. Under each solar panel grows a square of wheat grass. The grass square blocks the flow of sand and keeps the water molecules in the air on the surface of the sand layer, which provides water supply for shallow-rooted plants.
