DAS Solar Drives UK's Net-Zero Ambitions with N-Type Innovations at Solar & Storage Live 2025

2025-09-24

Birmingham, Sept. 23, 2025 - Solar & Storage Live 2025 officially opened at the NEC Birmingham. During the event, DAS Solar presented its flagship N-type Series at the exhibition, injecting new green momentum into the UK market with cutting-edge solar technologies.

As the UK’s largest and most influential renewable energy event, Solar & Storage Live focuses on solar innovation and storage applications, covering the full energy industry value chain. The exhibition brings together over 500 global exhibitors and is expected to welcome 30,000 professional visitors. Solar energy plays a pivotal role in the UK’s 2035 net-zero power target, carrying multiple strategic missions. Recently, the UK government released its Solar Roadmap, a detailed blueprint for scaling solar capacity in the next six years, building on the Clean Power Action Plan 2030 published in December 2024. The roadmap sets a target of increasing solar capacity from the current 18GW to as high as 47GW by 2030. By 2025, the UK had already installed over 2GW of solar capacity—the strongest start in nearly a decade—with an additional 3GW of utility-scale projects under construction, underscoring the market’s vast potential.

At this year’s exhibition, DAS Solar showcased a comprehensive portfolio of core products, including high-efficiency N-type series modules, Diamond series back-contact (DBC) modules, self-cleaning modules, lightweight modules, and differentiated solutions, precisely tailored to the UK market’s demand for high efficiency, enhanced safety, and diverse scenario adaptability. As a leader in N-type TOPCon technology, DAS Solar has driven industry-wide innovation by lowering LCOE and maximizing overall energy yield. With breakthroughs from TOPCon 1.0 to 5.0, DAS Solar’s mass production efficiency of TOPCon 5.0 cells surpassed 27% by June 2025, achieving an open-circuit voltage of 746mV and propelling global solar technology toward higher efficiency and sustainability.

A key highlight was the 475W DBC module, integrating TOPCon 5.0 tunneling layer technology with full-contact passivation, marking a milestone breakthrough. Its front-side busbar-free design eliminates light shading, significantly boosting conversion efficiency. DAS Solar’s DBC 3.0 Plus cell efficiency has reached 27.77%, with an open-circuit voltage of 745.7mV, module power exceeding 670W, and efficiency of 24.3%. Designed with an all-black aesthetic, the modules blend seamlessly into architectural landscapes and are ideally suited for premium UK residential projects.

Addressing the UK’s frequent cloudy and rainy conditions, DAS Solar unveiled the 660W DAS Black Series, featuring an integrated design with black cells, frames, and backsheet to pioneer a new “solar aesthetics” trend. Its outstanding low-light performance and high conversion efficiency enhance yield, while the mirror-like flatness of its all-black finish ensures seamless integration with rooftops, positioning it as the “invisible energy partner” for high-end residential applications.

DAS Solar also introduced its 660W self-cleaning module, which adopts a short-edge frameless design to minimize dust accumulation. Optimized drainage channels reduce hot spot risks caused by shading, protecting module performance. This design extends cleaning cycles, lowers maintenance costs, and conserves water, bringing a sustainable breakthrough in PV plant O&M.

With the UK targeting 8–10GW of residential solar capacity—a more than 300% increase from the current 2.5GW, and over 500,000 new rooftop installations annually—DAS Solar presented its 515W ECOSKY lightweight module. With a weight of only 4.7 kg/m², more than 50% lighter than conventional modules, it enables easy installation across diverse rooftops, lowering barriers and costs. In addition, its robust resistance to damp heat and salt mist ensures long-term stable returns.

Through its innovative and market-tailored solutions, DAS Solar demonstrated strong technological leadership and forward-looking strategy at Solar & Storage Live 2025. Against the backdrop of rapid industry growth, favorable policy support, and expanding market demand, DAS Solar is committed to advancing the UK’s green energy revolution, contributing to its net-zero electricity goals, and setting new benchmarks for global solar innovation—driving the industry toward a more efficient and sustainable future.
