DAS Solar Launches the Construction of the 3 GW Photovoltaic Module Factory in France

2025-04-23

Mandeure, Apr. 23, 2025 — DAS Solar, a leader in N-type PV technology, has officially broken ground on its first overseas 3GW module manufacturing facility in Mandeure, France. As a key milestone in the company’s global strategy, this project demonstrates DAS Solar’s firm commitment to Europe’s energy transition and sustainable development.

During the ceremony, DAS Solar also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Nedey—a French automotive group—to strengthen cooperation in the field of renewable energy and promote the ecological transition.

Strategic Location: Laying the Groundwork for Localized Growth

As global demand for solar energy continues to rise, DAS Solar is accelerating its international strategy through a dual approach of global deployment and local integration. Following the establishment of subsidiaries in Germany, Australia, and Japan, DAS Solar selected France—Europe’s third-largest PV market—for its first overseas factory, thanks to the country’s supportive policy environment and robust industrial foundation.

The Mandeure site, located in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, offers convenient transportation access and strong local infrastructure. The factory will harness regional advantages to build a localized, intelligent manufacturing system capable of serving the diverse needs of the European market.

Technological Leadership with Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing

As a leader in N-type TOPCon technology, DAS Solar has achieved industry-leading cell efficiencies exceeding 27% with its self-developed TOPCon 5.0 technology. The French facility will feature fully automated production lines and advanced digital management systems to ensure world-class quality and performance.

Looking ahead, DAS Solar plans to establish additional facilities for ingot and wafer production in France. Alongside partner companies, it also aims to localize production of key solar materials and components—including EVA/POE, cables, junction boxes, aluminum frames, and silver paste—forming a comprehensive “Made in France” solar supply chain.

Partnership with Nedey: Driving Energy Independence and Cross-Sector Collaboration

As part of the ceremony, DAS Solar signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Nedey, a leading French automotive group, to explore new opportunities in renewable energy deployment. The partnership aims to support Nedey’s transition to energy independence by equipping its facilities with high-efficiency DAS Solar photovoltaic systems.

This cross-sector collaboration represents a shared vision for sustainability between two innovative industry leaders. By integrating solar energy into automotive operations, the partnership not only contributes to lower carbon emissions but also sets a new benchmark for corporate responsibility and ecological transition in France.

A Model of Green Manufacturing

The factory is designed with a strong focus on low-carbon, circular production. By renovating an existing industrial facility, DAS Solar is accelerating project delivery while reducing environmental impact and creating new local jobs. The rooftop will be equipped with a solar PV system for on-site energy generation, and the plant will include facilities for wastewater treatment and waste recycling, ensuring clean, sustainable operations throughout.

A Milestone in China–Europe Green Cooperation

The project has received strong backing from French authorities at all levels. From site selection to approvals and construction, government and corporate collaboration has played a vital role in the project’s smooth progress.

DAS Solar Chairman and CEO Mr. Liu Yong said: as part of its broader European strategy, DAS Solar has already delivered landmark projects across France, the Netherlands, and Greece—including the largest floating solar power station in Europe. The new French facility will further enhance its local service capabilities, support regional employment and training, and foster collaborative innovation in the energy sector.

Marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, the launch of DAS Solar’s French factory is more than just an investment—it is a symbol of global cooperation and a model of synergy between Chinese innovation and European manufacturing.

With this milestone, DAS Solar continues to advance its mission of delivering smarter, cleaner, and more localized solar solutions to power the global energy transition.
