DAS Solar attends the virtual conference to share the latest TOPCon technology and N-Type 3.0 product innovations

2023-06-28

DAS Solar, a top-tier brand in N-type technology, attended “Global PV System Technology Trends H1/2023” virtual conference, organized by TaiyangNews, to share the latest N-Type technology and product innovations. DAS Solar Technical Director Leo Chang gave a keynote speech of “New Developments For N-type Product Range Of DAS Solar” to share the upgrading N-type technology innovation development and N-type 3.0 series products.

"The current efficiency of PERC cells has gradually approached its theoretical limit, posing a constraint on further efficiency improvements," stated Leo Chang during the conference. In response to the market's demand for continuous reductions in the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE), the market share of N-type products has been expanding due to technological innovation and development. The N-type technology route, compatible with existing PERC technology, has emerged as a cost-effective solution for numerous companies, capitalizing on its inherent technological and cost advantages. Infolink's projections indicate that by 2026, TOPCon technology is expected to capture approximately 80% of the market share in N-type technology.

During the transition from P-type to N-type technology, DAS Solar introduced the N-type 3.0 series modules. N-type 3.0 series modules represent a significant advancement, incorporating three core technologies: the independently developed high-energy laser i-SE, ultra-thin polycrystalline silicon with micro-doping ut-PolySi, and emitter stack surface passivation mt-Pass. As a result, the N-type 3.0 series modules achieve an impressive maximum power output of 640W. The modules also feature half-cut cells, SMBB (Super Multi-busbar) technology, non-destructive cutting, and round wire welding, enabling exceptional performance in terms of efficiency, power output, bifaciality, minimal power degradation, low-temperature coefficient, low incidence of hidden cracks, and outstanding performance under low irradiance conditions.

Based on comparative data from string and power design installations, N-type modules outperform P-type modules in power generation. These results contribute to a reduction in the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) while delivering higher energy output. DAS Solar's modules are versatile and suitable for various projects, including large-scale utility PV plants, commercial and industrial distributed systems, and residential photovoltaic. Additionally, they encompass full scenarios, including desert, urban, and offshore photovoltaics.

DAS Solar is actively advancing the research and development of TOPCon 4.0 technology, which is based on materials with ultra-high carrier selectivity and incorporates advanced structural design and implementation techniques. This exciting development holds the promising potential to facilitate significant advancements in high-efficiency solar technology.
